The killer is in the house!

I haven't blogged in quite a while because I felt like I haven't really had much to report. However, I have been pretty busy since the big 2-5.

Halloween was a blast! My friends and I all dressed up as best we could considering that Korea doesn't celebrate Halloween. It was a little tough to make or get costumes, but I think we all did pretty well.
This is on our way to go out on Halloween. We were lucky enough to grab some seats on either side of a sleeping aujumma. She woke up and was, needless to say, a tad surprised. Koreans already stare at white people, but white people in costumes? It's too much for them.
My good friend Jessica had her best friend, Shanel, come visit from California. Jess put her through a fantastic Korean boot camp and really showed her all of Seoul in a week. This is us on a hike of the biggest mountain in Seoul. It was great!
On a trip to the Seoul Zoo on a day off of school, I got to hand feed a group of kangaroos! They weren't the prettiest looking creatures, but it was so fun! I was a tad scared they would try and box me, but it was such a cool experience.
This is Stephanie and I in Africa. Seoul Zoo went above and beyond trying to make Africa it's best section. And, let me tell you, they brought the magic.
This is me, of course, swimming with some hippos. Everyone does that at their local zoo, right?
At the Seoul Lantern Festival with Andrea and Stephanie! The lanterns were fantastic and pretty breathtaking. It was a great Sunday night out!
 More Seoul Lantern Festival.
The lantern festival ran along a small creek in the city. You could make your own lantern, put a light in it, and send it down the creek. This is where they caught all the lanterns. It was cute!
I got to skype my parents with all of my third grade classes. My students LOVED it! And so did Jack and Linda.
We spent an afternoon at the local ice skating rink and made best friends with an adorable 7 year old named Regina. She helped teach Andrea how to skate, chased Joe around the ice and showed us her awesome skills.
This is Regina holding hands and skating with Stephanie. She was such an adorable little girl!
This was a night out for my dear friend Sabrina's 24th birthday! It was a great time, as always.

Fall has basically come and gone in the blink of an eye, which is somewhat disappointing for someone from the beautiful state of Washington. Korea isn't exactly known for its foliage. Something that Korea is known for is it's harsh winter weather. Winter hasn't really set in here yet, but we all know that it's coming. The Koreans have been talking about winter and how awful it is since.. well, since summer. My friends who have been in Korea for previous winters have been warning me since October. All my students have gotten out their giant, puffy North Face jackets that no one has worn since P. Diddy and Mase rocked them in the 90's. But still, winter hasn't really hit yet. We have had a few really cold days, but no real winter. I feel like I'm Nev Campbell (aka Sidney Prescott) in the Scream movies. I know that the killer is in the house, but he hasn't found me yet. I've knocked him down a few times and ran away and I'm pretty sure I've found a good hiding place... but odds are the guy in the ghost face mask is going to find me. That's just always how it works. But I've got some great winter plans and only 3 months left in Korea, so no ghost face killer.. or winter... is going to bring me down!
